For patients
What is Hemo?
Hemo provides convenient clinical sample collection and phlebotomy locations in Manhattan for lab work ordered by healthcare providers. Patients can complete routine and specialty testing through participating lab partners at Hemo locations.
Do I need a doctor's order for blood work?
Most lab work at Hemo is doctor-ordered. If you need an order, telemedicine may let you skip an in-person doctor's office visit when appropriate. Your provider or telemedicine visit can send the order electronically, and you can have it available at check-in if it was not sent ahead.
Can I use telemedicine for my lab order?
Yes, when telemedicine is appropriate for your situation. A telemedicine provider can order many routine or specialty lab tests electronically, so you can come to Hemo for collection without a separate in-person doctor's office visit.
Can I book an appointment online?
Yes. You can book an appointment online for Hemo-connected lab testing. Booking may use LabFinder.com depending on the test and participating lab partner.
Are walk-ins welcome?
Walk-ins and appointments are welcome at current Hemo locations. Availability can vary by location, test, and day, so booking ahead can help. You can also review the current Hemo locations before your visit.
Do I need anything at check-in?
Your order, photo ID, and insurance information can be uploaded during booking or sent to Hemo electronically. If any item was not submitted ahead of time, have it available at check-in.
Do you accept insurance or self-pay?
Insurance and self-pay options can depend on your plan, the lab partner, the test, and the order from your provider. Hemo uses your order and insurance information to help match testing with participating lab partners whenever possible, which helps reduce the risk of unexpected out-of-network costs. You can also review our insurance information before your visit.
How do I get my results?
Results are accessed through the link provided for your test, with LabFinder.com-powered results access when applicable. If you need help, use the Access results link or contact Hemo for guidance.
Who should I contact about billing?
Lab billing can depend on the lab partner, test, and insurance plan. For billing questions, email Hemo at hello@hemo.nyc, and the team can help point you to the right next step.
For lab partners
